A new Superman reboot produced by J. J. Abrams has been announced
A new Superman reboot has been announced for Warner Bros. with production by J. J. Abrams and will be written by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
Author Ta-Nehisi Coates is writing a Superman reboot for Warner Bros and DC, which J.J.Abrams is producing under his Bad Robot label.
Hannah Minghella will be the producer.
Coates is linked to a drama directed by Ryan Coogler entitled “Wrong Answer” about a math teacher in Atlanta who is scandalized when he seeks funding for his school by changing his students’ test scores.
As a national correspondent for The Atlantic, Coates covered cultural, social and political issues, specifically those of African Americans and white supremacy. He wrote for The Village Voice, TIME and contributed to the New York Times Magazine, Washington Post and more. His nonfiction books include The Beautiful Struggle, Between the World and Me and We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy. Between the world and I won the 2015 National Nonfiction Book Award. Noteworthy, Coates wrote a series of Black Panthers and Captain America for Marvel Comics. Coates received a special thank you credit in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Black Panther.
Abrams has a half billion deal with WarnerMedia, which closed in September 2019.
Bad Robot and Warner are developing the Dark Universe Justice League for films and TV.
