WhatsApp has gone down, leaving its millions of customers without access or send messages.

The issues on the app have been rapidly fixed – however, with greater than two billion people on the service, even the briefest of outages can hit an enormous variety of people.

Tracking website Down Detector confirmed what seemed to be a world outage on Tuesday night, because the messaging app appeared to have damaged. Issues have been significantly targeted in Europe and Brazil, however that’s more likely to be a results of the place active customers are almost certainly to be based.

During the issues, conversations did appear to load, however new messages would refuse to send within those chats.

Some earlier WhatsApp outages have been followed by issues at Facebook and Instagram, presumably as a result of they share infrastructure. However these companies appeared to continue working as normal.

Not like these different Facebook-owned apps, WhatsApp doesn’t function a standing web page to replace users and developers on any issues with its service, that means there is no such thing as a simple option to know whether or not the company is aware of the outage of how widespread it is likely to be.

The company does have a devoted Twitter account – under the name of WhatsApp Status – however it has not been used since 2014.
