Liverpool fans aglomerate to celebrate Premier League title

A big number of Liverpool fans went to Anfield to celebrate the Liverpool’s first Premier League title.

Fans set off flares and fireworks after Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Manchester City gave the Club their first league title in 30 years.

Within half an hour of the end result about 2,000 fans had gathered exterior the membership’s stadium, with some celebrating outside the famous Kop stand.

No attempts had been made to disperse the group by police officers at the ground.

Assistant Chief Constable Rob Carden stated “a large number of people chose to gather outside the stadium” however said it was mostly “good natured”.

He praised the “overwhelming majority” of fans that “recognised now is not the time to gather together to celebrate, and chose to mark the event safely”.
