Texas house explosion injures multiple people including children, officials say
Six people were injured on Monday afternoon when a house exploded in a neighborhood of Plano – Texas, firefighters said.
At the moment, it is not known what caused the explosion in the house at the 4400 block of Cleveland Drive. Whatever the source of the detonation, the house was leveled, debris was scattered hundreds of meters around, and the shock wave supposedly shook buildings at least a mile away.
The Plano Fire Department confirmed that six people were injured in the explosion, including three people who were transported to nearby hospitals. There has been no word yet on the extent of his injuries.
The Texas SkyRanger view showed a pile of wood framing and other debris where a house stood not far from the intersection of W. Park Boulevard and Coit Road.
A neighbor who lives several houses away from the blasted house said other houses had windows damaged by the blast.
There were storms in the area on Monday afternoon, but Oncor officials said the lightning is not considered a likely source for the detonation. There are no reported power outages in the area.
