Havana starts the process of opening after quarantine
The vast majority of Cuban territory does not detect covid-19 for several weeks in a row, as the borders were closed on March 24 and patients and their contacts for the past 15 days were not allowed to maintain physical contact to avoid contagion.
As of June 20, all provinces had already entered the first of three phases of recovery, except Matanzas and Havana, both in the west, where new cases continued to be detected.
As of this Wednesday, Cuba allows foreign tourists to enter, but only on the islets that border its territory, without contacting its citizens.
The third phase, still undated, includes the total reopening of the island and the massive arrival of foreign tourists. Tourism is the main economic engine in the country.
